Ambika Satkunanathan is a human rights advocate based in Sri Lanka. She has served as a Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka, where she conceptualised and led the first-ever national study of prisons. She was the Legal Advisor to the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Sri Lanka. She is currently a Board Member of the UN Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Torture, a Member of the Expert Panel of the Trial Watch Project of the Clooney Foundation and a Founder Member and the Vice Chairperson of Urgent Action Fund Asia & Pacific.
Channa de Silva is Chairman of Sarvodaya Development Finance and Founder Chairman of Capital Media. He was Managing Director of Summit Finance PLC and Group Managing Director of Delmege Group Limited. He was Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission and Executive Director of the Board of Investment, Sri Lanka. He is an Edward S. Mason Fellow in Public Policy, Harvard University, and was a Teaching Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, and of the Chartered Certified Accountants; Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment; and a Board Member of the Sri Lanka Member Network Panel of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Farzana Haniffa is a Professor in the Department of Sociology, University of Colombo, and a Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka. She earned her PhD in Anthropology from Columbia University, New York. She was a Visiting Fellow in Commonwealth Studies at the Centre for South Asian Studies, the University of Cambridge (2018/19). She has served on Sri Lanka’s Consultation Task Force on Reconciliation Mechanisms. She was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Leibniz Zentrum Moderner Orient in Berlin. She serves on the Management Council of the Social Scientists’ Association and on the Board of the Law and Society Trust.
Mirak Raheem began a second term as Commissioner of the Office on Missing Persons in April 2025, having served as a Founding Commissioner from 2018 to 2021. With over 20 years’ experience in human rights and transitional justice, he has lately focused on disappearances, specifically mass graves investigations. He conducted training/exposure visits for institutions including the Missing Persons Task Team (South Africa), FAFG (Guatemala), CMP (Cyprus), and ICMP (the Netherlands). He was a Member of the Consultation Task Force on Reconciliation Mechanisms and a National Consultant in drafting the National Policy on Durable Solutions for Conflict-Affected Displacement for the Ministry of Resettlement.
Dr. Pramilla Senanayake was Assistant Director General of the International Planned Parenthood Federation for over 15 years. She is currently the Chairperson of the Concept Foundation in Bangkok, Thailand, and Founder and Chairperson of the Board of the Educate a Child Trust, a charity providing education for over 800 children and post-tsunami housing for more than 60 families in Kalutara, Sri Lanka. She is also a Member of the Boards of Family Health International, USA, and WaterAid UK.
Shehara De Silva is an international marketing and communications expert who has been behind the success of several local and multinational brands. She is currently Vice President, Marketing and Strategy, of Emojot, a Silicon Valley technology startup. She was previously Group Head of Strategy of several Omnicom companies and Managing Director of Interbrand KL, the world’s largest brand consultancy. She has also consulted for development sector organisations, including ILO, USAID, and PLAN International. She is on the Board of Keels Foods, the Environmental Foundation Limited, The Music Project and the Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka.
